Born and raised in the historic Jackson Ward of Richmond, Virginia, Sir James L. Thornhill is a gifted American Artist. Although his range encompasses various styles and media, his essence is shown in the intimate oil portraits of dynamic figures balanced with a backdrop that emphasizes diverse cultural themes around the world. Art According to Sir James L. Thornhill Being a native of historic Jackson Ward, in Virginia's Richmond,I was surrounded by creative people. I grew up observing them as unique forms of functional art. The ingenuity of the ice maker, the merchants, the 2nd Street Performers and my relatives inspired my style. I learned that art is a universal force of strength and energy. Without art, the community's vitality suffers. SJT Art, Global shares with you, my journey of expressions through the global neighborhood. (804)908-3778 sir.jamesthornhill@gmail.com http://www.wix.com/sirjames1/sir-james-web
